In January, I was blessed with the opportunity to show my artwork at a local gallery. In Longwood, there’s a small warehouse that houses the Kaleidoscope Gallery and Venue for the Arts. This was a lovely opportunity to get the first show jitters out of my system.
The week prior to the show, I dropped off my artwork. My paintings have never been out of my house before so, it was kind of like dropping your babies off at daycare for the first time. Before I left, I spent a little time speaking with the ladies who run the gallery, signed a waiver and went on my way.
To my delight, several of my paintings were grouped together across the studio and a few were on the wall just as you walk in. I spent the next few hours, speaking with the other artists, checking out the artwork and greeting my guests. If I had known about this place sooner I would have scheduled a girls night out to view the artwork. It’s such a cute little place to visit on a Saturday night.
Thank you to those who came out to visit and I look forward to seeing some of you at the next few gallery events.
