I got together with my surf girl meetup group today and it was brrrrr outside. This time I can say I surfed…baby waves. My confidence is still low but, I had a great time and that’s really all that matters.
Speaking of cold water. Surfing in January requires a wetsuit here in Central Florida. Two weeks ago, I order an inexpensive suit off the Amazon marketplace. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t fit well.
The suit was snug everywhere except in the arms. It was so pretty that I wanted to keep it but I decided to return it and look for one locally. I didn’t feel like spending $400 for a wetsuit which is why I went this route, to begin with.
This morning I ended up at Ron Jon and found more affordable full wetsuits. Roxy was the wetsuit of choice. It was super comfortable and easy to zip up and move in. While I was there, I picked up a pair of RipCurl booties because … frozen toes.
My booties filled up with water and let’s just say they worked. However, they swelled up a little which felt weird, and then when the time came to stand up on my board they kinda got in the way. I will probably try again because they kept me soooo warm.
