Not My Best Surf Day

I came back out with my surf meetup group. I met a few more ladies which was cool.

I however, had a terrible surf day. I felt weak and scared. It was like I’ve never surfed before.

Fortunately, I’ve learned to not worry about days like this. Instead, I use it as an opportunity to get stronger. For the first hour I tried and tried to paddle into some waves.

The break was bigger than I expected. The forecast was for .5 to 1.5 ft break. Now I know why they picked this spot to surf.

There’s a bump even when it’s small.

I got out of the water for a bit and drank some water then went back in to work on my pop-up. The water by that time was rough and closing out.

I decided to just use the whitewash to practice pop ups. It’s frustrating when I don’t have the strength but, I know it will come with time and practice.

The frozen shoulder feels healed but in its place is a nervous body that’s outta shape.

Sometimes the hardest part is training the mind. So, I’ll work on that part in a few weeks.
